Testimonial - Scooby

scooby
“When we decided to adopt Scooby, a 2 yr. old Rottweiler stray from a high kill shelter in  Manhattan our decision was not easy.  Scooby came into our home with good house manners and knew basic commands. He was trusting and loving to my husband and I however he was showing signs of aggression towards other people.  We felt that because he was a great dog in our home we wanted to give him a chance and work diligently on making him the best dog he could be.  My husband and I knew we couldn’t do this on our own and that a highly skilled trainer would need to work with us on his fearfulness.  We turned to our Vet who highly recommended Helen Nicholls who is the owner of No Monkey Business Dog Training.
There are not enough positive words to describe Helen, we had a couple long conversations with her prior to completing the adoption of Scooby, in which she was a very good listener, never cutting us short or casting judgment on the breed.
We immediately started training once the adoption was complete.
Helen’s positive training methods are working very well for Scooby.  Helen is confident in what she does, you can clearly see she loves interacting with her canines (and their humans too).  Since we have been working with Helen she has helped me become more confident in my skills to give Scooby the appropriate commands he needs to not react in fearful situations.  It is hard work, dedication and commitment but from the progress we’ve seen in Scooby, coupled with Helen, make it all worth it.  For that we are forever grateful for Helen’s guidance.
Can’t wait for the next class!”
